TKAM #1

We get to know Scout during the first few chapters of To Kill a Mockingbird. Scout has a lot of trouble on her first day of school and she doesn't get along with her teacher, Miss Caroline. When Scout is upset about school, Atticus gives her some advice for dealing with the situation. He says, "...if you can learn a simple trick, Scout, you'll really get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... until you climb into his skin and walk around in it."

Do you agree or disagree with Atticus' advice? Why? What can you tell about Atticus (as a father and as a person) by his statement? What other advice would you give Scout?

i think that atticus is definetly telling the truth because you never know a person situation until you are in it yourself. And when she learns to get along with people she will be much better off.

Yeah i agree with Atticus's advice, because you have to be nice
with all kinds of people even if they are rude or mean with you. You should do this, because then people will start liking you, and you wont have any enemies.

Yes I agree with Atticus because a lot of people are judged but its only what you see in front of you, not what happens in their shoes. Atticus is a very helpful farther. He seems like he is very comforting and very smart.

I agree because your point of view may be different than others so you should always try to take in there pespective. Atticus seems like the kind of father that really cares for his family, not just that, but all the people around him.

I agree because you shouldn't judge someone before actually getting to know them first. His advice is very helpful.

I totally agree with Atticus since he is much positive with keeping Scott on track with his troubles at school. Looking at your friend's or enemy's point of view helps discover their potential of either getting along with or just avoiding them.

I agree with the advice Atticus gave to Scout. He is a very wise man. If you are nice to people no matter what they look like or how they act, more people will like you for who you are. You should always respect the views of all people, in order to get the respect you want or are looking for. Also if you look at their views you will see if you want to be friends with them or be enemies with that person.
